Meet Dr. Julie Allen
"I thrive when I'm able to give patients the highest level of care and attention... The better I know you, the better I can help."

I received my MD in 2010 but practice with the spirit of the old-fashioned doctor who arrived by horse and buggy to catch up with the family and heal any ailments.
With over 10 years of Urgent Care experience and being Board Certified in Family Medicine, I thrive when I'm able to give patients the highest level of care and attention. I started life as a musician, but during college, a personal medical challenge gave me the opportunity to truly understand medicine from the patient's view as well as make a career change.
Transitioning to medicine from music, I attended Johns Hopkins for pre-med and balanced biochemistry with breaks to sing in the Hopkins gospel choir. After the yearlong program I went to the UR School of Medicine where the highly-regarded Biopsychosocial approach to medicine was developed. Here I first saw the power of addressing the whole patient, and it remains the strongest guiding principal of my practice. During residency at UC Davis I developed a passion for helping patients with unpredictable and acute needs, so I have focused my career on the field of Urgent Care.
Beyond medicine, I'm active in the musical world and love playing with my family and dog. I embrace creativity in everything, which inspired the creation this practice to best care for my patients in an innovative way that honors the traditional practice of medicine.
The better I know you, the better I can help. I want to take the time you deserve to help you feel better as quickly as possible. While my focus within Family Medicine has been Urgent Care, I have always had a well-rounded practice approach, realizing that subtle differences in our lifestyle and disease processes can profoundly affect our health. Some issues are routine and some are not, requiring out-of-the-box thinking, detective work or extensive medical research. This all takes time, and I love doing it because outcomes are simply better. Plus, I get to know you and treat you like family.
